    Default Goaltending Trade -REP-

    League in sig.

I have done a series of trades that have resulted in me flipping Justin Faulk into Henrik Lundqvist.

Since then have been talking with a new OGM about a deal. I was originally going after his Shestyorkin so I would have Hank's replacement. But the OGM mentioned he could also just give me Martin Jones for The King and then he would have the NYR tendies. Then he backtracked a bit and added that he would need a prospect tacked on due to the age difference. I have cornered him into accepting Ivan Barbashev off my farm, whom I recently acquired as a throw-in on another trade. I have pimped Lundqvist like a Bangkok prostitute to every OGM in the league who has the best Gs for dynasty formats. The following is the best offer I have received.

The deal would be my Lundqvist and Barbashev for his Martin Jones.

How do we feel about this transaction? REP for your reasoned opinion.

I like it DG. It's another incremental improvement that is more than likely a win for you. More upside than downside.

yup, love this deal for you... Lundy is still really good, but he's shown signs of regression off and on over the past couple years - with some seriously disgusting patches of .700 svpct (basically). To rejuvenate your crease with Jones by only adding Barbashev (who I consider a completely replaceable & therefore expendable prospect) - using the words from above

    mash accept

Wow. No love for The King (#8) here, eh? He has been quite a bit better than Jones (#17) in my scoring system. But Jones is 8 years younger, so there is that.

I own him in 2 leagues. I'm waiting for his new years month where he's the worst G in the league. No one other than Couture has done much on SJ... I think they as a team improve 2nd half. Moving forward, I don't know if you get this much value for Lundy.

If you think you can win this year - then perhaps you stick with the hotter hand.

Yeah this is my main focus, I have been flipping this asset over and over and I think Jones might be the end result. He's definitely the best G anyone in my league is offering for him. So its time to grab that last stud-tier G value deal and cash out before the collapse. I thought I was pretty lucky getting Lundy from Luongo and change. And that deal was closed and passed through trade review a mere 6 hours before Luongo had his big injury. This would be Jones from Henrik and change (Barbashev, who I agree is utterly expendable), and that appraises like a pretty nice series of pulls. Kinda feels like riding a big streak in Vegas. Fortunately, overall it looks like a good move according to the pros here.

Not a pro here, but I agree - Barbashev is essentially a throw-away. If he's going to take Lundy for Jones and Barbashev, you need to accept this trade before he comes down off his high.

Yea Barbashev is whatever and Ill take Jones over Lundy at this point with more than a normal degree of confidence.

Excellent. I'm not crazy then. Borgstrom gets no love around here, and I am usually reluctant to bring him up because I want him to be a very dark secret until I own him. Wasnt sure if anyone else around here liked him as much as I do. Now I will finally have the room to add him.

Done deal. Exit Lundqvist, Barbashev. Enter Jones, Borgstrom.

Thanks for the insights. REPs bestowed upon the eligible.
