Is it as simple as this:

Bob Boughner= good @ power plays?
Dave Barr= Bad @ power plays?

SJ while Bob coached the SJ PP had several years of 20% PP (good for top 10 territory)
Dave Barr had several years of 16% while coaching the Panthers PP (in bottom 5 territory)

I have not watched any of their games but maybe the change in power play is a big reason why he is down. The entire PP was tilted toward Burns the last few years IIRC. he scored 50% of his points on the power play!

Very few players put up 50% of their points on the PP. Their was heavy writing on the wall territory here. Jumbo Joe is old, Marleau is gone, new PP scheme/coach, unsustainable scoring levels ( not that he hit 70P but that he could maintain that level 2-5 years in a row)

Just to note, he is 7th in the league in shots, shooting 1%. So if you believe that his percentage will improve, he could be decent for the rest of the year. But obviously it looks like he is moving past his prime, which makes sense given his age.

Burns had 6 points in the first 18 games. He has 7 points in the last 8 games. Which Burns does history tell us is more likely to show up for the rest of the season? I think its too early to call Time Of Death on a guy like this, people need to slow down and relax.

Haha yeah I have a while until I have to declare for next year so my roster is not necessarily set in stone in my sig. Its usually what it would be if I had to declare my top 26 at the moment. So its a nice problem to have.

As far as my team goes, keep in mind its a 10-team league, but it has taken 5 seasons, probably about 85-90 trades that I won a high percentage of, some great prospect drafting and free agent acquisitions, all of which were vastly improved by the information on these boards and this website.

I did finish 3rd last year in my league after back-to-back titles. It's a competitive setup where everyone is fighting for it and my team isnt bulletproof.
