What to make of Draisaitl?
He's been made available in one of my leagues (identical scoring categories to the league in my signature) but the asking price is fairly high.
I've always seen him as a 65-70 pt guy who'd get about a 10 point boost from playing with McDavid. Am I valuing him properly or do you guys value him more highly?
Asking price right now is Buchnevich and Terravainen which to me is far too much. League is a full 16 team dynasty with 40 man rosters (28 man pro and 12 man farm team) so it's not like I can just pick up a 45-50 point guy to fill the empty slot. Free agent pickings are SLIM to none.

I'm in a similar league and I would do that trade. I think you're assessing Draisatl correctly but I have a feeling he'll get that 10 point boost enough times in the next 5+ years to make it worth it.
Plus, his perceived value will always be much greater than the other two guys.

14 team league... you're not valuing LD properly. Buchnevich and Teravainen are waiver wire dudes. You pick them up when they get hot, but when they cool off they have very little trade value. LD on the other hand, can always get a top tier player. He's part of that club now. If you don't believe in him, flip him for top tier guy when he starts rolling. Even if he doesn't, you can still command that value as it could be argued it's an 'off' year.
Do the deal my man... pick up another player on the wire and you'll be ahead. Teravainen will slow down.

Draisaitl has 16 points in 17 games so it's not like he's slumping or underperforming in any way. The Oilers may suck in general but he and McDavid are going to keep getting their points and Draisaitl will keep bouncing back and forth to McDavid's wing when the Oilers need to get something going (which will be often). I definitely wouldn't trade him for Buch/Terra who could be much more streaky and with no guarantees that they even crack 60.

I rank Draisaitl about (70-75), Buchnevich (45-55) and Terravainen (45-55).
So with a massive deep pool like yours, I would still do it; pending on what kind of kid prospects you can pick up the coming season.
You always want the best producers cause you never know when the next good corp of kids will come. Usually cheap and easy to grab.

That's a cheap price on Draisaitl, I would jump on that. Then just do another trade where you send one of your prospects to acquire a proven player to fill the hole left by the trade. Or maybe you have a prospect coming up on your own farm.
EDIT: And yes, I think your Draisaitl valuation is spot on. Perhaps you're overvaluing Buchnevich and Teravainen, though. But that's fine since the other GM is seeing them the same way.

I'm also on the "I'm not sure what the big concern is" train here. Take LD and leave. Teravainen is nothing to write home about and while Buch may or may not ever be a big scorer... he is between the top and 4th line now - and a very streaky option at best. LD has put up the numbers for years now and will continue. He's the better own without question IMO... I do this deal AD ASAP

Whats up with Draisaitl's ZERO Powerplay points?
I would've been more concerned with his 5on5 production given their lack of skilled wingers, but he's been effective enough at even strength (19 EV points in 21 games)

No SOG last night either. They need to put McD and Draisaitl together - rejuvenate this team. No point squandering talent to attempt (key word - attempt) a more balanced attacked. Anyways, the reason why I quoted you is your profile picture... is that Finley's? The reason why I ask, is Ron pulled out the guns during his time in Nelson. The guy is an animal!
