Ehlers for Backstrom?
Thoughts on this in a straight points keeper league? Both guys currently slumping but bound to pick it up. Backstrom of course a proven high quality center while Ehlers is still young and finding his game.

No rebuild, it's the first year of our league. Currently in third and recently acquired Laine who is obviously a keeper and the better of the two Jets forwards. I'm pretty deep on wing and will already have some tough choices at the end of the year even with a keep-10.Originally Posted by PenguinHunter

This is correct... Backstrom will pick it up and that guy is deadly to fantasy opponents when he does - I've definitely been on the wrong side of that before. Cannot say that about Ehlers ever - but better long term option

This is a move for this year, with the hope of getting a strong second half from the historically consistent Backstrom (consistency being important in a Weekly Matchup league) and replacing Ehlers as a keeper with one of my other promising young wingers who could break out this year like Mantha or Aho. And if Backstrom goes on a tear the second half of the season I can always just keep him too.
