Cam Talbot. Buying Low a good choice? Crosby?

Hey forummers! So Talbot is in quite the slump....? I am not the owner of Talbot but as someone who desperately needs to upgrade my goalies, I have negotiated a trade for Talbot.

I give: Namestnikov + Nishop
I get: D. Hamilton + Talbot

What do you guys think of this deal? We have max games played in each position and I think Forsberg Skinner satisfies my LW pretty well.

Another trade currently blooming is for Crosby. An agreement hasn?t been made yet but I?m leaning towards a 2 for 1 deal that involvws me giving up Tavares and + for Crosby.

What do you all think?

I like both deals for you. The first one is a bit more of a risk, Dallas has the personnel to get out of their defensive funk quicker than Edmonton, but it's a higher risk / higher reward type of deal. If Talbot returns to what everyone expected out of him this year, you're doing a nice job of buying low. You also have the depth at forward to absorb the loss of Namestinkov, and I like the upgrade to your blue line with Hamilton.

The second deal really depends on the plus, but you'd be getting the best player in the deal in Crosby, so you'll likely come out ahead.

Ok I must say - have you watched Tampa this season? Stammer and Kooch are having CAREER years and Namesti is going to collect all the glory. Also Edmonton looks horrendous. I'd rather have Bishop with Hitchcock (hopefully) improving the D instead of Talbot who has no D. For me, no brainer to Keep what you have.

Also, Tavares for Crosby? No way!! Tavares is in a contract year, he's going to tear it up. Never trade players in contract years. Rookie mistake 101. Just my 2 cents, do what make you happy. It's fantasy.

I like the deal. Risks are can Edmonton get their act together? Is Namestinkov going to stay on top line all year?

I like both deals quite a bit given you need the goaltending. Talbot is probably the most likely bounce back goalie after the first quarter of the season. It's a risk no doubt but likely to turn out in your favor. Hamilton is a nice add.

I'm in a keep 2 and traded Tavares and Keller for Crosby earlier this year. My team could handle the depth loss and I'm 7-0 this season so far. As long as the add isn't crazy get Crosby, he will likely out produce Tavares for the next three quarters of the season.

I don't do deal #1 as I think Dallas is the better team and as stated by another, Namestnikov is on a legendary line atm. I do like the notion of getting Sid for Tavares depending on what the +1 is.

Trade is still in talks but it seems like I am not doing the Tavares trade. BenTrovato convinced me.

Namestnikov >>> Hamilton in your cats.

So I think I may have lowered the goalie I offer. Instead of Bishop, I offer Howard. Trade looks like this:

Namestnikov + Howard
Hamilton + Talbot

for
Toews-Hamilton-Talbot

I was able to maintain Namestnikov. I have 2 solid centres and since we have max games played per position, I am able to sacrifice a solid centre in Kadri. Toews is probably a player I can swap for a decent winger/D
