Would this be an overpayment?

For second team in signature. I won this league last year, and this year, I just seem to be stuck in the middle of the league. Pavelski and Burns' slow start has not helped as well as the slow start from Talbot and Holtby.

The owner of Stamkos is in 2nd last place at this point and might be open to an offer.

Was thinking of offering Eichel, Nylander and Brodie for Stamkos and Ghost. Giving up Eichel would obviously be tough but he has been having slow start as well. The league is a keeper league, keep 15, 22 man roster. 8 team league.

I realize Stamkos will slow down eventually, but will he still get more points than Eichel the rest of the season? I would think so.

League stats are basically 1.5 points/goal, 1 point/assist, bonus points for power play goals, small point bonus for PIM's and shots.

Should I make a huge splash, or sit tight and hope for my players to come around. I am currently 1 point back of 4th place, 46 points back of 3rd place. So a good run by a few players would move me up the standings.

Some advice is definitely needed.

Eichel looks completely dissintersted. I watched the Habs/Sabres the other night and Eichel was all but invisible. I would not take him in a trade for anyone near Stamkos’ ability until he learns how to be a pro. He’s not there yet. Talent yes, work ethic, no.

So these talks have started up again. The other owner sent an offer this morning of his Stamkos, Collin Miller and Brian Elliott for my rantanen, Lee and dubnyk and a 2nd round pick.

I'm actually alright with the players I would be losing as I have holtby and Talbot as my other goalies so the drop from dubnyk to Elliot is doable.
I rejected the offer and countered back, taking out the pick and replacing Miller with gotisbehere. Not sure if the other gm will go for it. He says he had other offers but was giving me first crack since I didn't insult him with my first offer involving eichel. I was surprised when he sent an offer this morning without eichel included.
Thoughts would be appreciated.

Other team rejected my offer. Going to see if he would do Stamkos for dubnyk and Nylander/lee/rantanen (one of the three, offered in that order) and then swing a separate trade to acquire Mike Smith or Rinne for a draft pick to replace dubnyk for this year. Just waiting on some reply's from teams to see if this is all doable.

This seems like an easy deal to accept for me, considering your other goalies will definitely pick it up soon. If you can go back and agree to this trade, do it.

Miller < Lee
Elliott < Dubnyk

and that’s discounting any Stamkos regression (which will come and that’s not to say I think Rantanen over takes him)

Well, thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately, lost out to another gm. He accepted a deal of his Stamkos and price for Seguin and vasielivsky and a 3rd round pick.
My last offer to him was my rantanen and dubnyk for his Stamkos. I actually thought he was getting better value from me because he didn't have to give up price.
Oh well, onto the next deal. Lol
