Exclamation Time to start shopping Burns

I'm desperately looking for a reason not to move him, but he just can't seem to get a point to save his life. Even with a 5-0 shutout last night him and pavelski both managed to screw me over and avoid the scoreboard. Anyone think he's going to start rolling or is better to make some moves and try and acquire some guys like Ghost, Josi, Pietrangelo, etc. ?

The reason to not move him is that you're selling low. Burns will start producing at some point and then if you want to get off the train, you can shop him for actual value rather than underperforming value.

I definitely feel ya on that.. Just reading some other threads on Burn's and I'm starting to get more and more nervous that he might be a bust this season (at least compared to last).

Even at a diminished value his price will still be high. Personally I think I'm going to weather the storm with him, as I just don't see him finishing with less than 60 points even on an off year. He'll get his bearings and start filling the net eventually..... i hope.

For me, it depends on the type of league you are in.

In dynasty or a near-dynasty, I would gladly move towards any of Gostisbehere, Josi, or Pietrangelo. They are younger and close enough in value that the extra years will loom large.

In a limited keeper, it depends on the actual deal, team situation, and what else you get back. This is the league type where I'd be least willing to move him.

In a one-year league, I'd also be willing to move him on the chance that this is injury related, or that the Sharks aren't going to be good enough.

Definitely raise some good points here. I listened to "Keeping Karlsson" this afternoon and they raised some great points that swayed me away from moving him just yet. Thanks for the advice guys!

I traded Burns in the off-season for Hedman and a pick, and then second-guessed myself up until the season started. I feel a little better now, even though Hedman is not exactly tearing it up either, but I think both of them will revert to form sooner, rather than later.
