Was frankly a little sad that everyone was acting like that goal by Russell was more soul crushing and deflating than the one by Smith was 20 years ago whatever. Twitter blew up like he just lost the cup on that play, Russell was kind've acting that way too.

Two different types of goals. Russell scored a goal-scorer's goal, placed perfectly, quick release, caught the goalie by surprise. Makes me wonder when he'll get D/RW eligibility in Yahoo. Smith's goal was some Gretzky-like voodoo sorcery from behind the net. Both goalies had no chance.

I will be the judge of that.

Still in 14th place in a 15-team conference, so let's not get carried away. But they do have a pulse, so that's good for their supporters.

I think we here on the boards need to establish some sort of universally-accepted threshold that determines Soiler/Oiler status, like the Mendoza Line in baseball. Suggestions welcome.

bodies have been known to continue to twitch hours after the heart stops beating. Are you sure it's a pulse? or just the correct conditions to delay rigor mortis ?

It's true. The corpse could just be lying on a steam vent, or something else that is keeping the cadaver artificially warm.

Just found this thread... Another oiler fan weighing in. They need to go on a bit of a run in December to keep the hope alive. 13 games with a decently difficult schedule and I think they need to win 7 or 8 of them with a couple ot or shootout losses thrown in. That would keep them in the hunt. If they go sub 500 in December I don't think they make the playoffs.

That Russell goal was just one of those things that happen when things aren't going right for you, hopefully it's the peak of it.

If that hapoens at least I'll be more likely to qualify for season tickets so that's a positive...

Pretty sure it was meant to be sarcastic/humorous. Don't take it so seriously.
