Is it a one year league or a keeper? He's not worth holding in the 1 yr league
Is it still worth holding this guy in 12 team leagues and shallower?
I'm all for gambling on an injury to Rinne, but with his recent performances hes making it pretty hard for the coach to turn to him. Even as a last resort I don't think Saros would be trusted as a regular starter.
I'd rather hold someone like Dell right now instead. Or use the spot for streaming.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Rinne's 2017 (dating back to last year) has been awesome, and he's played over 60 games for three seasons. Looking like Saros won't get much of a shot this year and he needs lots of work to be great - not much of a spot start goalie. Not a great own in one year leagues

Unless you hold the Nashville handcuff, I'd look elsewhere for help in a one-year league.

In a full keeper, I agree with EB that you gotta hold him. Anything else though, even limited keeper, I feel he' should be dropped.
Wanted to get a feel if others agreed. Thanks!
I would hold bigtime in a keeper. Even if he hasn't been great, Nashville will not look elsewhere if Rinne is hurt. Saros has all the ability needed to step up and be a starter.
You are right about spot starts so far, though. However, in January, things may look different.

I?m in a 12 team, Keep 10, Keeper League and I drafted him at around round #6 in this year?s redraft.
Needless to say I?ve been very disappointed in him thus far but I did hit a homerun two years ago when I was tanking by picking up Murray and Vasilevskiy off waivers when they were exactly in Saros? position. I protected them as two of my 10 keepers as goalie backups and patience paid off tremendously so I will probably keep Saros as my goalie #4 for the year (Murray, Vasi, Rask, Saros) just cause I want to avoid him exploding for a rival GM.
Besides, there?s nothing interesting on waivers goalie wise? Highest owned % are Khudobin, Budaj, Grubauer, A.Forsberg, Lehtonen?
Bottom line, I?m not dropping him yet.

Other Players: Not worth mentioning...
In the league that I currently roster him, its a keep-6 in a goalie hoarding league.
This active discussion has me at least thinking its worth some more waiting. As far as lottery tickets go hes a good one.
I suppose the idea is that if he isn't doing well then the risk of another opposing manager rostering him is lower.
Will be keeping a close eye on this situation. Just wishing he could have a single good outing...

One more game this weekend to prove his worth!
I'm in a 14 team, 21 man roster, keep 10, and I've been eyeing him for a while, but I just don't have the roster space for "dead weight". As in, I would want to just hoard him, not actually play him. And the rest of my league has largely ignored him. Rinne's contract is up after next year, so the succession plan has to start by next year at the latest.
The last 2 seasons, I've picked him up the last week of the season to stash him on my roster and see if he somehow takes over in the playoffs. I'm gonna do the same again this year. That's my game plan anyway.
