With all due respect... yes, yes they are this bad! When you gets rid of a number of Staple players and don’t replace them or do so with garbage players, this is the result.

I don’t think they’re underachieving, I think this is what we can expect.

Wonder if Price will regret his contract? Hmmm.

I was wondering if the club and the player can just agree to void the contract the way Streit did. If they put Price on waivers right now, does he clear with that contract?

Dear Mr. Bergevin, You don't win hockey games with immobile stay at home defenseman any more. You win hockey games buy POSSESING THE ****ING PUCK!!!! You need skilled players to do this, particularly on defense. Players who are good at this whose names you may recognize...
    PK Subban
    Mikael Sergachev
    Victor Mete
    Andre Markov
Shea Theodore (who you passed on to draft McCarron)
And these guys you passed on to draft Galchenyuk...
    Morgan Reilly
    Brady Skjei
    Matt Dumba

Players who do not meet this criteria:
Shea Weber (he's a great guy in the room and has a hell of a shot)
    Jordie Benn
    Mark Streit!!!!!!
    Karl Alzner
    Jeff Petry
    Joe Morrow
    Brandon Davidson

You passed on Filip Forsberg for christs sake!!!
You should step down and acknowledge that you've set this club back 10 years.
    Sacre Bleu!!!
Wow sounds like the Leafs for so many seasons

    Gerry Macnamara
    Gord Stellick
    Floyd Smith
    Bill Watters
    Ken Dryden
    Pat Quinn
    JFJ
    Burke/Nonis

I give Jim Greggory a pass because we had some exciting moments in the 70s. Lousy drafter though. BUT DID draft Sittler AND SIGN SALMING.

I don't think it's fair to say a team passed on certain players for another player that didn't work out. For the most part, the draft is a crap shoot. I mean how many teams passed on Karlsson? How many passed on Kucherov? I know the list is too long for this thread.

    That was a Habs record.

The NHL record is 33 shots in a period, in a game back in 1941 between the Hawks and Rangers.

Completely true. The passes I mention just seem so much worse because the Habs look like such garbage right now. And it still doesn't excuse trading PK and Sergachev. I know Sergachev is still a complete unknown...but again their D is so bad it sucks to lose him.

It does not excuse them for trading PK. I didn't like that at all. Sergachev is becoming known quite quickly. He has 2 more points than Drouin right now. Ouch.

Trading PK is not the main nor even a smaller reason of why they're doing so poorly

I would disagree with this somewhat. Part of the problem with the Habs is they don't have any defensemen that can make a move around someone to get free, make that great breakout pass or provide offense on their own in the offensive zone.

I agree. Shea Weber being in Montreal instead of PK isn't their issue. It's so much larger than that.

Maybe Claude Julien isn't the guy to get the boys going in Montreal and maybe Marc Bergevin isn't the guy to be making the decisions in Montreal anymore. It isn't Shea Weber's fault and PK would be facing the same questions if he was still in Montreal. He's good, but he isn't that good that he would be a difference maker in Montreal this season.

Listen being a leaf fan mainly I can you I know disfunction (oiler fans saw it for a period too).
You have to have your pieces together upstairs b4 u can expect anything down below. (Inc drafting developing etc)
The longer u leave it the harder it is and longer it takes to fix.
