McDavid for Crosby, Keller & Talbot

Still early to hit the panic button, but I have a standing offer from diehard oiler GM, basically to take any of his players I want from his team.
After this year, MCD is expensive, Crosby a bargain, I need goaltending (Price will be price too).

I am considering to redo my team if Lundquist and Price don't shape up US thanksgiving.

I can get Hedman, Barrie too, but cap space is tight.

Thoughts?

This is an immediate accept, for me.

It's a 14-team h2h, depth is what will win you a league, not concentrated talent. Especially in a 14-team league, having three starters is HUGE value. This isn't a 1-for-3... you have to consider the other three.

McDavd + Debrincat (your worst winger) + Dell

for

Crosby + Keller + Talbot

That's a massive win, for this season and for all your keepers. I would do this deal before the other GM comes to their senses. Obviously you need to manage the cap, but wow that makes your team monstrously better.

I think it is a good deal too... especially in a cap league.

I will say, I'd get greedy here.
If he SENT you that deal, tell him you are interested and would do if he throws in a 1st round pick.
If he really wants McDavid, that will be no issue.

EB, you think Debrincat outscores Cammalleri this year? Neither should be keepers on that squad beyond this season, and Cammy is coming at a very attractive $1M cap hit.

he's also got Draisaitl, Larkin, Yamamoto...

its very difficult to rejig my team under the cap, so that is a big issue - Jamie Benn and Lundquist are heavy sal cap hits, lundy turning into an albatross.

I don't need to hurry, I have until Christmas or even later.

I like Pengwin7's advice, ask for a 1st to be added. Crosby's 30... so there's a "negative" on him. unlikely he adds any of the 3 players you've listed. 2 are Oilers and Larkin is lighting it up so far

The deal is shaping up as:
Crosby, Keller and Talbot, plus maybe Larkin, and try to fit Evander Kane in somehow. The other GM said take whatever I want Damn cap space is killin me.

An update ...k i done the dirty deed .... took most of lucafen4's advisement, but could not swing cap room for Kane (it would have taken a 3 GM transaction - too complicated to pull off). Anyways I cant dump Patches that quickly.

Our Commishes are quite anal so the trade was monitored but approved. It was a blockbuster deal.
