Know what's rude? The "one-offs" who ask about a player, whether its an injury update or whatever and people go out of their way to respond and the guy doesn't even have the courtesy to say thank you. Just ask the question, take the answer and leave. Feh and bah!

Think of it this way, we're getting a lot of new members lately to sample our forum. If you help 10 people, maybe eight take the advice and move on with their day while two become regular contributors, which is a major win for everyone. You can play a role in getting new members on board for the long haul just by being generous and giving good advice.
