I like Darling over Helly, and acquired Darling accordingly. While I think that Helly may end up being the better goalie long term, you aren't keeping either and Darling is in the better situation to succeed this year, as Carolina invested in him and he is backed up by an aging tender with an expiring contract.

I'm on the other side. With Darling or Helle being your 3rd option - you're insulated. Wpg is the better of the two teams. Adding Mason is doing what the Jets wanted it to do, elevate Hellebuyck's game. Canes are still a growing team, can argue the Jets are too, but there's elite talent in the Peg that is lacking in Carolina. That alone is going to amount to extra wins. I think the Jets make the playoffs, whereas the Canes are buried in the deep deep metro another year.

Darling. Sure, Helly had a great start but he is just a few bad games away from giving some crease time back to Mason. The potential upside with Win and helly is probably greater but the best play would be Darling who has decent upside as well with Carolina. I think Carolina improves this year. Good luck.
