The hits keep on coming for the Boston Bruins, health-wise.

After leaving midway through Boston's loss to the Vegas Golden Knights Sunday, center Ryan Spooner has been diagnosed with a right groin adductor tear, the team announced in a release.

The Bruins added that the expected recovery time for the injury is approximately four to six weeks.

Spooner, 25, has primarily centered Boston's third line this season -- notching one assist in five games played with posting a minus-2 rating. Spooner returned to the Bruins this year after agreeing to a one-year, $2.8 million deal back in July.

The Bruins are already dealing with severe issues when it comes to depth at the center position, with Patrice Bergeron still yet to play this year due to a lower-body injury. Currently, David Krejci and Riley Nash are the only two healthy centers currently on the Bruins roster.

While both Bergeron and center/winger David Backes are getting closer and closer to a return, the Bruins received even more bad news earlier Wednesday, as goaltender Tuukka Rask was hit by Anders Bjork midway during practice and did not return. Speaking after practice, Bruce Cassidy noted that the team has no update for Rask, with more updates set to come Thursday morning.
