McDavid for Kucherov

I own kucherov and I have been offered a trade for mcdavid. Should I take this trade? Kucherov is hot right now but mcdavid is mcdavid. Thoughts?

Normally I would ask for your league settings, roster etc (suggestion for future posts) but I would think that's an accept for the best player in the league, regardless of Kucherov's hot start.

Even in a one year league, considering how both players have started out, I'd still take McDavid. It's way too early in the year to be giving up on him but this is a benefit to you that the other GM is the one giving up.

Obviously, everyone will say McDavid here but I don't think Kucherov is that far behind him. I think they finish within 5 points of each other. If this is a cap league, I would have a hard time giving up Kucherov given his cheap salary next year, compared to McDavid's and the likelihood Kucherov gets less money than McDavid when he signs his extension. So no cap, take McDavid. Cap and it's not that easy a decision.

Make the deal. Despite going quiet on the goal front, McDavid is firing over a shot per game more than last year thus far. He's committed to upping his goal totals and he should still be the favourite to win the Art Ross.

You have to take McDavid here. I actually predicted Kucherov to edge McDavid out for the art Ross this year in the "Fearless Forecasts" thread. But any chance you get to land the best player in the game, you have to take it

take McDavid... then when McDavid starts lighting it up like Crazy.... offer him back to the other owner for Kucherov ++++++ and see then!

I bet if you play your cards right you could turn this trade into obtaining a great player in return for nothing....

OR you could just keep the best player in the league!

not to beat a dead horse, but McDavid. We're barely 2 weeks in, and as much as I like Kucherov remember there's not a league out there where McDavid didn't go 1st overall.

The only league setting I would take Kucherov over McDavid is in a straight goals only pool. Other than that McDavid is the upgrade here.

McDavid went before Kucherov in your draft (I assume) for a reason.

McDavid's contract doesn't kick in until next year and he posted in the one-year section of the forums so if anything, McDavid is making less than Kucherov this year.

I hope I'm the first to say 'congrats' on obtaining McD rather than 'doh' because you waited too long and the other owner's Kucherov erection drooped a little and cancelled the offer.
