Martin Jones Dropped

Sorry if this should be in the Goalie Post thread...

Martin Jones was dropped in my 10 team league. We start only one goalie and I have Frederick Andersen and Vasilevski. Many owners have three goalies and I know there will be conflicts since we're only starting one.

Jones has had a rough start and many are predicting fewer wins for SJ this year compared to last, but am I stupid not to claim him here??

Depends on a lot of factors. I think he is most valuable to you as an insurance policy and/or as trade bait. But I wouldn't drop an important piece to make space for him. Context is important.

As eric mentioned above... it largely depends on who you would have to drop in order to pick him up.

If you are dropping someone like Cody Ceci, then go ahead... if it is someone more valuable... then no!

In a start one I prefer both Vas and Andersen so Unless you know you can move him I’m not sure it’s worth the drop

It's a six person bench, with a start 6 F and 4 D - so it is a deep bench. Unfortunately, I would have to drop Aho, Keller or Namestnikov with the move to grab him (one year league)...

Honestly in a start one 10 team league, there's little room for Jones this season. Don't sacrifice offense for him to sit on your bench and do nothing.

Whats the scoring and is it daily starts? If daily starts there might be a place for Jones on your bench but with 2 better goalies in front he won't see a ton of starts. I'd run a schedule conflict to see how many starts you can get from Jones vs. the skater you would drop (Aho IMO) and get an idea of who produces more.

IMO Jones needs to be added in this instance. Not just for potential spot starts but what happens if one of your main goalies goes down long-term and there is no Jones-caliber goalie available?

My concern as well.

This is also a concern - remaining goalies available besides Jones right now: Raanta, Mason, Saros, Mrazek, Reimer, Neuvirth, Subban...so Jones is a clear standout
