Default I'm thinking Lehner was a mistake...

    Gents -

I took a flyer on Lehner in the last round of my draft. For the league in Sig and only wins/shutouts/ot losses count for points. I can't see starting him over Bishop in any of the next 4 or 5 weeks. I only start one goalie per week. Running 1 goalie is not suicide in this league as you can see there are always lower tier starters available in FA.

    Available goalies:

    Darling
    Hellebuyck
    Varlamov
    Marsktrom
    Greiss
    Raanta
    Mason
    Saros

    Available forwards:
    Rantanen
    Bratt
    Yakipov
    Pommenville
    Landeskog
    Gallagher
    Ryan
    Rask
    Shipachyov
    Nash

I'm leaving towards Darling but could be talked into a forward.

    Thoughts are always appreciated.

In your format I prefer Darling over Lehner. I'd rather have a solid backup goalie than 9th forward because you're one injury away from starting your backup goalie but 2 away from starting a 9th forward.

I would also keep an eye on the Jets tandem, if one can emerge as a starter I still like the Jets to have more wins than the Sabres this season.

    I concur.

90% of final round picks are mistakes... you're just a statistic now.

Thanks. Always helps getting some confirmation and I feel very similar. Winnipeg is really intriguing and Helle looked good against the oilers. He's getting the start in Vancouver as well. I feel like he'll be on a short leash though and it will inevitably go south for him this season at some point.

I think I'll pull the trigger on Darling for now.

I'd also check the "daily schedule" thingy that's pinned under One-Year leagues (i think) and see which goalie plays the most off-nights compared to Bishop and just roll with that guy. Periphs don't matter, so just go for volume.

Funny, the least conflicts you'll see with Bishop as your No1 are:
    Washington - 47
    Hawks - 46
    Buffalo - 43
    Anaheim - 41
    Leafs - 39
    Canadiens - 39

Carolina has only 31 games, Colorado has 34, Zona is 32.

I'd be saying the extra 12 games played by Lehner for now may equal Darling's, but keep an eye on it. It's at worse a lateral move i think.

He only starts one goalie per week, so wouldn't overlapping starts be a non-issue? Perhaps ensuring you have two goalies that have different bye weeks would be a very good thing, eh?

Agree with everyone, Darling > Lehner

Weekly starts - you run with Bishop - take Darling just in case of injury and you can also stream him when Carolina has like 4 games in a week and Bishop only has like 2 to get extra games.

Correct only 1 goalie per week so I have to pick on Mondays. Will run bishop 90 percent of the time. If there's a week where Dallas only plays 2 games I may look at starting Darling depending on how he does and Carolinas schedule.

Gotta use a spreadsheet. I made one this year that was checking overlap between three goalies sharing two spots. Nearly broke google sheets/my browser.. as there were a lot of combinations to check. Maybe I'll try to clean it up and share it. What are the most common goalie scenarios people need to see... two goalies sharing one spot? Three sharing two spots? Other?

Might be a little early to give up on Lehner and Buffalo. They certainly have started poorly, but I do think they have a stronger team than last year and will begin to put some W's on the board at some point. They have moved Kane to the Okposo and O'Reilly line to see if he can jump start those two.
