I would like to know as well
So I drafted Pulock anticipating he might have a top 4 role entering the season with some PP time down the road. Unfortunately, he's being scratched every game so far and I was wondering if anyone got any update on this. The onyl thing I could find was a column not being very indicative at all (but here it is nonetheless: https://eyesonisles.com/2017/10/10/n...roster-builds/)

Thanks for the link. Too bad for Pulock, I took a gamble and all signs point to it being a bust

It's a shallow league and I picked him for a potential 30pts from a rookie def, so I might be looking elsewhere if this is not in the cards anymore
I will hold on to him for October and part of November probably

If it's a shallow league just move on and ride a different rookie. There must be some good ones available.

Thanks all, I'll be on the lookout but any relevant rookie defencemen is picked atm, the most productive D available right now are Samuel Girard Christian Djoos. To be continued!

Pulock played the other night and picked up a PPA and 3 SOG. Anyone watch??
8+ mins of ice time. Looked ok on the PP, but didn't look like a star. Defensive end was...... not good. He managed a -1 in short order. He'll be given rope and I hope he learns how to play defense at the NHL level. He even had trouble at the AHL level sometimes. Not the best skater, which for defencemen is a big drawback at making a big impact at the NHL level.

The Islanders dressed 7 D-men for that game, and Pulock was that 7th D-man. He got a couple of extra shifts when Boychuk was dealing with some pain but yeah, 5:25 at ES tells me he's probably not going to be in their top-6 unless someone gets injured.
He was definitely helping the PP (although that PPA was just an accident - he misfired and Lee was able to put the puck into an empty net) which is his bread and butter but it's unlikely they dress 7 D-men for every game just to have Pulock on the PP, so he needs to impress the coaching staff enough to be part of that top-6. But as agentzero said, his defensive game was not good - bad defensive decisions, bad defensive positioning, and he looked slow. Of course all that is partly because he played so little and hasn't played at all until this game, so things could improve if he starts getting regular ice-time.
I thought Mayfield looked almost as bad as Pulock defensively, so I don't understand why they can't have those two rotating in and out the lineup. But it looks like the Islanders always go with the safe and boring option if that's available instead of a risk/reward option like Pulock. They should just trade him.
