4 college coaches charged. All coaches or assistant coaches at D1 schools. Coaches accepted bribes 13-100k.

This is, IMO, much, much worse.

Players getting extra benefits- free meals, advances, even cash, directly from agents- That is hard to stop when they are young people who have never seen that kind of money and think (rightfully or wrongly) that they deserve it.

Here as I understand it the allegations are that coaches took bribes to direct college players to sign with certain agencies.
1. Coaches are grown men.
2. Coaches get paid very well for their labour.
3. Players trust their coaches and the coaches used that trust to profit.

I hope if true the coaches get the book thrown at them, also they'll never coach again.

Its been going on for 20+ yrs, but glad it's caught. However, it's always been rumoured highschoolers were getting kick backs from Adidas/Nike/so on to go to an Adidas/Nike/so on school, and sign with them once they're done in NCAA. So kids have always been involved, and I wouldn't be surprised you get some players exposed.

I hate when coaches do this tho. Some get $100+ grand a yr to coach.

Like drugs, the ones that get caught are just the tip of the iceberg. This happens in all walks of life. Hard to turn down easy money. Good or bad.
