Default Drafting advice for tomorrow, will rep!

We are gonna have our rookie draft tomorrow and i have 6 picks: 6,7,21,31,32 and 41th overall. League info is in signature. We can also draft players who are not yet drafted in our league during previous years and have 0 nhl games played (so players like Ship, Sorokin, Samsonov, forsbacka karlson, nicolas roy, troy terry, zach aston-reese etc are available but most of the hottest names are already drafted like keller, jost, kunin and kaprizov )

My plan is to get at least one goalie prospect and maybe one D-prospect. My team is starving for potential future 1-2 line centers so those are priority.

Basicly 6th and 7th picks are gonna be easy, ill just take who are left out of middlestadt, glass, vilardi, petterson, makar. Only thing about this pick is that should i take ship if he is still available? Im pretty sure he is good but he would be trading goods since my team is now gonna start year 2 of rebuild. Or is someone like terry or roy good enough to concider picking here too?

Any tips on who to target with the later picks are appreciated. I wonder if there could be still some good multicat center prospects for the 21th pick.

I wouldn't take Shipachyov with picks #6 or #7 if you don't need the immediate production - you could trade him but probably wouldn't get anyone better than who you're already getting now, so at least you get to decide who to draft. And no, don't even consider Terry or Roy that high. Maybe Terry at pick #31 if still available and Roy maybe pick #41 but probably not even there.

My opinion is that there are 20 very good prospects in this 2017 draft class, so when you add in Shipachyov who will go somewhere in that top-20 as well, one of them should be available for you at pick #21. Don't think too much about positions when drafting prospects unless you have two prospects evenly ranked. You're drafting for 3-4 years into the future (at least), so who knows what your team looks like then.

If Samsonov or Sorokin is available at pick #31, I would definitely consider them there. They're risky because they might stay in Russia forever but they're worth the risk because if they do come over, they could become NHL starters very quickly after that.

    Anders Bjork
    Nikita Gusev
    Forsbacka-karlson
    Aston-Reese
    Henrik Haapala
    Linus Soderstrom
    Taylor Raddysh
    Vesalainen
    Tolvanen
    Terry

Tolvanen and Vesalainen would be in my top-21 (Tolvanen a bit higher than that, Vesalainen just barely in there). Bjork and Haapala I'd consider at #31 (both ahead of Terry but not by much). Maybe consider Raddysh at #41 but others I wouldn't see being worth consideration that high in a draft. Maybe JFK if it helps to get some short-term production but I don't see high upside with him, more likely just a #3C.

I really like Gusev but I'm not sure he's going to leave Russia at all. Maybe he's worth taking late in the draft if you don't mind waiting on him (although most prospects require waiting, so not much difference with that).

Put it this way, I'm very weak on prospects and even I can tell that was a good result.
