Here are a couple of guys to keep an eye on. If your league allows you to pick up players whose rights don't belong to an NHL team, I'd consider putting them on your bench.

Daniel Brickley - 30 NHL teams were reportedly after him to sign after last year, but he's going to return for his junior year. He's got size and all of the tools to be a legit top-4 defence on most NHL teams. He is also on the NCAA short list for the olympics this season. His stock will only continue to rise.

Vladimir Tkachev(Tkachyov) - Admiral (KHL) - yes, there are two players with the same name currently playing in the KHL. This Tkachev is the younger of the two. He's also the one that the Oilers tried to sign, but weren't allowed. There were reports that he was going to join the Rangers prospect camp at the start of the summer but had Visa issues, and then their training camp this fall before he signed a one-year deal with Admiral. He apparently said he wanted to repair his shoulder that he injured at the end of last year and also put on some muscle (he's still very small). After a brutal start to the year, and a very bad team, he has ripped off 8 points in his last three games.
