Short term: I think Getzlaf is going to go scoring bananas with Kesler out to start the season. Getzlaf is going to get so many offensive opportunities it should shoot his point totals up.

I think Wheeler is the easy choice, better contract than Getzlaf and even though he is a bit older than Hoffman he is surrounded by enough young talent to ensure he keeps producing at a high level.

FYI - if you project Hoffman's scoring pace from last season to 82 games, it was 67.5. Plus, he's improved his scoring rate every season. That having been said, I'm going Wheeler - he's great and surrounded by a superb group of fowards. He's a lock for 70 each season and a legit threat for 75+.

I'm going to sign him to 4 years, meaning he'll have just turned 34 going into his last contract year (assuming I don't move him sooner). You are saying 70-75+ for him, but for what time frame, next 2 years? What do you expect for the next 4 years?

Wheeler was my pick before opening the thread, but looking at Getzlafs salary again makes Wheeler a slam dunk for me.

I think if Wheeler plays 80 games each season, he'll get 70+ points in each of the next four seasons, yes.
