    Default Moving Seguin

    Hey Everyone,

I am looking to move Seguin in my keeper league and have 4 different offers that I feel are quite close. Hoping I could get some second opinions.

    Offer 1: C. McAvoy, O. Palat, C. Fischer
    Offer 2: V. Abramov, J. Dahlen, A. Nylander
    Offer 3: H. Lindholm, T. Dermott, M. Blackwood, S. Reedy, 2019 3rd Round Pick
    Offer 4: 2018 1st (should be top 5 pick), E. Tolvanen, 2019 4th Round Pick

It's a 14 team league, I took this team over this Summer so I am looking to tear it down and build it up the way I want it. I thought moving Seguin before he gets his new deal next summer would be ideal. That being said, I don't feel I HAVE to move him.

    Thanks in advance!

Would help to know your league rules and scoring, but I would go with the 1st offer or I would keep Seguin. Being listed as a C/RW really add to his value.

I have added league rules and scoring to my signature. Because it is a cap league, my concern is him getting a massive deal going into next year.

Could help to see your roster too! Personally I would keep him. He is a lock for 30G-40A-30PPP-around 300 SOG- 5 to 8 GWG + he can play C/RW + still young.

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies. It should be noted that I'm essentially trying to rebuild right now but like I said in OP, I don't mind having Seguin as one of my older pieces once I'm ready to contend in 2-4 years.

I may have been struggling with this because I didn't see the value I needed, but just felt the need to make a move.

    Thanks again!

Seguin is a 25 years old stud in his prime, you can rebuild around him, dont use him for rebuild. If in 3 years you still searching for more depth, maybe move him then...not now. not for what you getting. In 3 years its possible that only player with regular duties in NHL is Palat from this group...

These would all be automatic rejections as a Seguin owner. Even in a rebuild he will be in his prime and still a stud, unless you are planning like a 6 year rebuild in which case I would advise you to take another strategy. Even if he gets a huge contract he is still worth more than those offers. Wait for a better offer or hold onto him (Which is what i would do).

They are all garbage. As was said before seguin is someone u rebuild around not use for tearing down purposes. In interested to know who you'd be building around otherwise?

Thanks again everyone. I think I got caught up in the idea of moving the player and didn't realize what I was doing. Like I said, I think deep down I wasn't getting what I wanted because I wasn't willing to pull the trigger immediately on any of them.

Seguin has two more years left at $5.75.

I see where you are coming from and depending on the situation this move you are considering may not be a bad idea. I don't think the timing is right for this move thou. You are in no rush. You have time on your side. Wait until Seguin puts up his Seguin-like numbers to start the season then shop him again. I think you will find the offers much better. You need to be trying to get to excellent players for your one elite player. Non of the offers above fit this bill.

Gun to my head and I had to take one of the above I would go with 'Offer 1', but I would do so without feeling too good about it.

    Offer 1: C. McAvoy, O. Palat, C. Fischer
