    Default REP Brodie v Spurgeon

League in sig, assuming I keep a 4th D after my big 3 (Karlsson, Burns, Jones), who would you choose between Brodie and Spurgeon? Brodie is the bigger name and the proven 40+ pt dman, but Spurgeon is so damn good all around (SOG, Blcks, +/-) but a bit injury-prone. Thoughts? Will rep freely!

I like Spurgeon here. I think Brodie takes a bit of a step back from last season. You have a ridiculous d core and he is a nice piece that hits your peripheral categories nicely.

I also prefer Spurgeon. I am concerned what Hamonic addition will mean for Brodie. And Brodie is clearly behind Giordano and Hamilton. I think Spurgeon can compete for the #2 role behind Suter

Brodie will be a casualty of Hamilton's continued ascension, while Spurgeon will just keep on doing his point per every other game thing - one of the steadiest eddies around.

I'm also taking Spurg. Brodie will be 2nd pair beside Hamonic as well as third choice for PP time. 40+pts ain't happening this year barring an injury.

Thanks all, pretty clear consensus here for Spurgeom and I tend to agree in a multicat like ours. Only real knock on Spurgeon is he's a bit injury prone. Rep given to all except Kabonov, will get you in 24 hours.

Toss up for me...I've owned both Brodie and Spurgeon the last 2 previous seasons. Spurgeon was definitely trending up, but last year he started losing some quality minutes, including PP once in a while to Dumba. Brodie is already behind giordano and hamilton. Spurgeon is going to be behind Suter and Dumba in short order.

Stupid me...I voted for Brodie even though I meant to vote for Spurgeon. I would take Spurgeon.
