Default Mark Stone vs J. Voracek

    G, A , +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG

I have Stone and I am considering this. I have soft spot for Voracek. Also it looks like even trade to me. What do you guys think?

Stone isn't the sexy choice, but I think his consistency trumps Voracek. I worry about the Flyers PP without Schenn, and that would hurt Voracek's production quite a bit. Meanwhile, Stone just shows up, isn't spectacular, but scores at at 60-65 point pace year in year out.

I think they are close. I prefer Stone but it may be a homer pick.

    Voracek for me.
I think PHI has a better top six... a better PP1 unit... a better overall future for their team.

Fantasy people always explore "best case" for players. So Stone, they think "OK, Stone with Turris & Hoffman, Karlsson's back there".
Well, OTT could shuffle lines - how would he do without Turris & Hoffman? What about when Karlsson is not on the ice with him?

And similarly, what about Voracek... even if he's not on Giroux's line... he could be out there with Patrick.
On D there could be Provorov out there, or Ghost... and the kids coming on D: Morin, Hagg, Sanheim, P.Myers - are going to be so solid.

I might give Stone an advantage this year.
But long term, I like Voracek and the emerging Flyers.

In fairness, Voracek is neither the 81pt player of three seasons ago... or the 55pt player of two-seaons ago.
    He's a 62-65pt (240sog!) player on an emerging team.

Stone is also a 62-65pt player (150sog!)... unless OTT shuffles lines to try to find some depth.
OTT seems a bit stagnant. Ceci isn't rally panning out to the hype they'd hoped. Chabot might be solid.
Colin White... we'll see - but the offensive depth overall isn't deeply impressive to me as PHI's is.

I think Stone is the safer consistent pick while Voracek has the higher upside. I would personally go with Voracek but wouldn't fault someone for taking Stone.

I Voracek. Hes a driver of play and shoots a ton. People are really down on him but I think he's still a mid 60's winger.

I think both will be in that 60-65pt range (health considerations ignored of course) but I do prefer Vorachek by a hair here as well.

    Voracek's basement is Stone's ceiling.

Both might end up with roughly the same points, but that'd be a bad season for Voracek and a good season for Stone. Stone likely won't ever be a 70 pt player in Ottawa (not enough offensive support, defense-first minded team and player). Voracek won't likely return to 80 pts, but he could quite easily get 70 if he, Giroux, Ghost, etc. go nutty on the power play like they did a couple years ago.

True story...I have the same decision in my salary league, but in that league I am dropping Voracek and keeping Stone. If money wasn't a factor, I'd keep Voracek instead.
