There are essentially 2 kinds of cancer.
The first one makes you weak and that allows a disease of opportunity to kill you
The second one obviously kills you
It will depend on the diagnosis, but fortunately for Brian he is young and relatively rich so treatment options should be all available for him
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

The type of leukemia is easily treated with medication, so unless something unforeseen happens, he’ll live a long life. His playing career depends on him.
One study has 90% of CML patients who took Gleevec (drug) were still alive after 5yrs, and most had normal white blood cell counts.
