Default OEL What happened to his SOG?

Looking at OEL last year to two years ago his SOG dropped significantly. Do you expect a bounce back in this category or will he be more like a 150 SOG D?

I expect it to be around 180-200sog.
It wouldn't surprise me to see it stay a bit low.
OEL played with Connor Murphy & Luke Schenn... and I simply don't think he gels that well with those guys compared to previous seasons of D-mates.
He also used to really click on the 3F/2D back in the Yandle days... and hasn't had a solid passer up at the top with him on the PP the last 2.x seasons.

Short answer - his wrist hurt and his mom died. A rebound should occur.

I see a bounce back to form.

    1) No DeAngelo scooping PP time. OEL is now the undisputed PP QB.
    2) OEL had some personal issues affecting him last year that I hope don't carry over to this year.

There might be a dampening effect on OEL's SOG when you consider that the entire team's improvement/maturation (where puck is more evenly distributed across the PP...meaning less focus on OEL individually) but I think the pros outweigh the cons here.

Thanks all. All logical reasons and defiantly sorry about his Mom that sucks. All things indicate that he should be in line for a bounce back this year.

I also chalk a lot of it up to him playing through an injury. Expect a bounce back.

A tough year for him on a couple of fronts, I wouldn't be concerned at all - he'll bounce right back.

I believe it was a thumb injury, not wrist. And an injured thumb will obviously have a big effect on someone's ability to shoot. I also think that's what led to him deferring so much to Vrbata on the PP. if that thumb is healed, I expect OEL to be back over 200 shots, and 15 or so goals.

He's got Clayton Keller for a full season now. For those unaware, Keller is basically a Drouin clone (IMO). He's gonna feed OEL one-timer all year on the PP.

Yea from what I recall it was thumb injury. Which has to make it tough to shoot.
