It's amazing how bad the NHL is at applying their own existing rules. A lot of people think the minor penalty is a new thing. They're just selectively deciding to apply that rule.
Happened in the Habs - Bruins game on the B's first PP of the game, I was a little confused.

Yeah, old rule. Makes sense with the Dot markings. It's going to be a SOB to call, watch the video to see. Like, both players have been violating the rule at the same draw, but one is called.

It's definitely not a new rule. MikeyJ_MMA as usual is just terrible at his job. The wording of his article is bad. The "new" part is starting this year they're going to be much stricter on enforcing the "old" faceoff rules. 2 players from the same team getting kicked out of the faceoff circle has been a penalty for multiple years already. As usual, once preseason ends the reffing will relax (even though it shouldn't). If players would just stop cheating and adapt there wouldn't be that many penalties lol.
Faceoffs have been a shitshow for years. I want to see cheaters penalized. They'll either learn to stop or they'll start hurting their teams a lot.

One faceoff rule I'd like to see added is giving the defending team a penalty for the 1st faceoff infraction after an icing. Because everyone is buying time by sending a winger to "take" the first faceoff and getting sent out. We all know what they're doing, it happens almost every time. Just get rid of it.
Yay, more FOW from the wingers AND power plays!? Giddy up I say, giddy up. I mean, who doesn't like watching 34 minutes of power plays in a 60 minute game? The skill guys will get 30 minutes of ice time!

Sorry so what is the new rule here?? I saw this on the Quiz too but had the sound turned down.
Is it actually something new?
