In a shallow league like that, your logic is sound. However with the unknown of Karlssons injury, I still go Crosby with pick #2, then shift my focus to D
Just wanted some opinions, am I crazy thinking Karlsson may be a better pick here than Crosby?
14 team league - Start 3 forwards 2 Defenseman and a goalie. Scoring is mainly points based but you do get a little bit for PIM and +/-
My logic is that in a league that is so shallow there are plenty of decent forwards on waivers but defensemen are always at a premium, if Karlsson is anywhere within 10 or 15 points of Crosby I feel like I come out ahead.
Does this make any sense or is Crosby the safe choice here?

I agree with 4T2. Your logic is sound but predicated on the fact that Karlsson will play the same number of games as Crosby and that he will be within about 10 points, both of which are not guaranteed quantities. That is enough for me to say Crosby, but really you can't go wrong either way.
