Default Pull the trigger for a 2019 1st?

    Hi,

    I got offered my 2 2nd rounders for a 1st rounder in 2019.

My 2nd rounders are 2-7 (mine) and 2-10.

He has a good, but not great, team, I expect his 1st rounder will fall in the range of 5-10.

We keep all our 31 players, all non-keeper players and rookies(including 2017 draft players) eligible for this year draft (and so on each year).

Would you pull the trigger? My farm is poor but I am in win now mode and this year draft is poor. (I would pick 21 and 24 overall)

    See signature for league details.

Unless you think the 2019 1st round pick will be in the top 5 of that entry draft, I would much rather have 2 seconds this year. 2 years is a big difference in terms of value of draft picks. If it was a 2018 1st round pick, it would be a lot closer of a deal but as it stands, I would keep the 2nds.

For 2018 1st rounder, I would definitely do this deal. But 2019 is just too far away for my liking.

    No more answers?

Thank you to those who answered me. I'll put it on hold for now.

I understand your point. But do you believe the 2019 draft will be a strong one?

Very early in my mind for 2019 projections.

In my league I am working on getting 2019 first rounders so I get what you are doing but that's also bc I have a handful of 2018 1sts.

The problem is you never know what this gm can do over the next two seasons. Now looks bottom 5 team but could turn into a top 10 team for all you know

    I wouldn't do it.
An upgrade from 2-7 second round to 5-10 first round is pretty nominal. Definitely not worth the cost of the extra pick.
I would only make a trade like that if it were to secure me some generational talent, a player in an upper tier which usually drops off after 1-3 first round.

If you have enough prospect depth I would do it.

If you cupboards are bare I wouldn't do it.

I tried trading 2 seconds this year for future firsts in my league and no one was biting.

You'll probably end up with better value you just have to wait two years. I do a lot of these deals and this upcoming year is the year I loaded up with draft picks from years prior.

I'd rather take a shot with two picks in the low 20s this year and see where they are in two years. Or counter and ask for his 2018 1st rounder.

Ok, then I'll keep my 2 2nd rounders then.

    Thanks for your answers!

No way I give up 2 seconds this year for a 2019 first?
    Offer him one?
