Its an auction draft w/ Wins, GAA, and Sv% as categories
How would you rank the following goalies:

    Lundqvist - Will he rebound?
    C. Anderson - Is always up and down. Is he due for a down year?
Mason - Does he finally give WPG good goaltending?
Luongo - Does he do any better than split with Reimer?

Do you think there is anyone that is truly a significant upgrade over the others?
In general, I would value GAA and Sv% above wins, unless there is a huge discrepancy.

    Thanks in advance!

Lundqvist is the easy choice here in my opinion.

Lundqvist, particularly with so few B2Bs and a lousy back-up

With Auction drafts, you want the best bang-for-your-buck.
While I like Lundqvist the best... I think Mason will have a pretty decent year.
Mason is WAY down the Yahoo charts, and he's around the 20-24th best goalie on many boards.
So I think you can get good value out of him.

I've ragged on Mason plenty in my life, but I do like Winnipeg as the ultimate sleeper team this year.
I think they've got upside to be really, really, really good... like 100pt good, if their D-men show full potential and line 3 adds some scoring.

I think Mason is the value-play here.
If you are able to nominate goalies for auctions, I say you nominate Lundqvist on your 2nd or 3rd round turn... then Mason on your 4th or 5th round turn.

Get Mason out there early - because people will have identified the goalies they want - so you want him out there when people aren't prepared to bid on him.
Then, hopefully - you can snag him at around half cost of Lundqvist... and I think he gives you 80% of Lundqvist value.

And I'd get Anderson out there immediately next round if you don't win Mason... because I like Anderson at around same value as Mason.

Yes, exactly. Lundqvist will likely be much more expensive. In a $300 cap, I would guess Lundqvist would be around $40, Anderson around $25, Mason around $10-15, and Luongo around $10-15. Sorry should have included that. Best back for your buck is very important.

Interesting take on Mason. Are you worried about hellebuyck at all?

bang for buck, Mason is the guy. He'll be challenged by Helly, which could be good, and overall Mason and Lundy could be close when dealing in %'s

Disagree - I'm going with Anderson. He won't come expensive, is the clear starter, and always puts up solid numbers...not spectacular (thus the low cost in an auction draft) but solid. Lundqvist will be pricey and Luongo and Mason are in clear timeshare/tandem situations....I'll pass.

Big fan of Andy but I don't think he's gonna have the same magic. I don't have the confidence of a great season ahead for OTT.

The Sens are pretty close to the Rangers this season. Dobber has an 8 point spread between the two. Dobber also has Lund down for 34 wins vs Anderson for 32. And in an auction Anderson will cost a lot less. He's the clear choice in my opinion. Comparable rate stats and a projected 2 win margin seems to point to the much cheaper option.

What's your expectation for Mason? To take the starting gig by the horns and start 60 games or so? I really like the team in front of those guys....I'm a little concerned about the D depth with the injury history of Myers and Enstrom. But there hasn't been enough consistency in Mason's game for me. And really I see a tandem here. If someone gets hot then they may pull the lions share, but based on track record that could just as easily be Hellebucyk.

If we were talking number of saves and not percentages then I might be swayed but we're not. OP is fine with taking a few less wins. I see a tandem too but more like a 75\25 split with Mase getting the bigger half. Shiney new Off season acquisition and more NHL experience. New team...new outlook on the game and a renewed work ethic....gimme Mason.just a gut feeling

Need a 3rd goalie for my hockey pool team and I would be very interested in Mason, because I think this year is the Jets year to have a successful team. But only this I'm concerned is would I have to pick up Hellebuyck as well only thing is, I'm not aloud to pick more than 3 goalies in a season. How much playing time is Mason going to get over Hellebuyck this year do you think.
