I think any of these options is good value for Kane in a salary league, but would want Murray over Talbot. Matthews and Laine are pretty equal, although in a goal heavy league, I might give the edge to Laine. Still pretty close.
I have what I think is a very decent offer on the table for P. Kane in my auction / keeper league from a GM who's been keen on Kane for years. I have a feeling that the Hawks are going to struggle this year and for next few years, so I've been exploring the option of getting a younger team, upgrading my goalies (had Holtby but traded him in combo deal for McDavid) while staying competitive at same time.
I have been offered Laine ($9) plus Matt Murray ($7) for Kane ($16); however, this GM also has Matthews ($11) and Talbot ($6). He is willing to let go of either Talbot or Murray (with Laine) for Kane; however, if I pushed hard for Matthews (instead of Laine), that may work too. Thoughts on any of these options...are they fair? And if so, which forward and goalie combo do I push for?
I'm leaning Murray over Talbot, as he's younger (kinda shocked that Talbot is 30 yrs old!). And for the forwards, it's easy to wrap my head around Laine due to his position (RW, same as Kane) and given the goal heavy nature of our points system, although I do worry Laine regresses this year given big shooting % year he had. My gut says I should push for Matthews as he will have the better career overall (less risky than Laine?) and his surrounding teammates are better (not that the Jets top 6 is any slouch, they have very good young core also).
Please help Dobberheads! I appreciate your votes / guidance to get me through this trade dilemma! My roster is below, bold players are tentative five keepers and I'd obviously drop Ehlers / Klingberg for these two incoming players from the trade. Thanks all.

I'd go with Matthews and Murray

Any combo of those is a great return for Kane. Take what you can get before he changes his mind!
I'd take Laine and Talbot (my perceived worse case scenario for you) so either forward and either goalie is a big yes for me. Robbing him blind would definitely be Matthews and Murray...

Toss a coin on either....personally I go Matthews and Murray - mainly because I think Matthews has more trade va

just take what ever combo he gives you and run before he changes his mind on this robbery
I like Laine + Murray more than Kane + Klingberg (that's who I assume you will drop). But it's not the slam dunk everyone is saying. I'd just prefer having a high-end top goalie as a keeper.
Is he a drop of is there another deal to be done?

Thanks for the thoughts guys, much appreciated. I didn't want to complicate explaining the circumstances too much, but yes, other GM will have to drop one of these goalies prior to keeper declaration (he does not want to keep two goalies and has a great roster of 5 keepers with just keeping one goalie).
So theoretically, I could not give up Kane and just try to bid on either Talbot or Murray (whoever he drops) in our upcoming draft / auction, but either would go for ~ $15 (I'm guessing). Hence, that's why I'd want to try and execute this prior to keeper declaration (I would get them at their current cap hit of $6 / $7, respectively). So getting one of Matthews / Laine AND one of the goalies is a unique opportunity prior to keeper declaration.
I think I'll try and push for Matthews / Murray based on some of the comments here, and if that doesn't fly, a Laine / Murray secondary option doesn't sound too shabby.
fyi, as I was doing my research on goalies, it appears Pens have 19 back to backs this year (highest in league), so Murray will probably be a max 60 start guy (fingers crossed no injuries), while the Oilers only have 11 back to backs (one of lowest)...just food for thought for those in one year leagues that are comparing this two goalies, not as big of an issue in keeper leagues obviously.
Thanks again all, any other votes welcome and will keep you posted on how the deal ends up.

I agree with the groupthink. Laine and Murray is outstanding.
- I said... "God damn this tablet is heavy!"
If you can get Matthews Murray thats gravy0 but Laine/Murray is still fantastic value at this point. Either one is a homerun...
