The goal of this league is to be the most in depth, interesting and fun league you could ever be a part of. Above all else I'd like to preach comradery and fun. Some people like to talk about activity, but I think fun breeds activity.

Key features:

- An 82 game schedule, there are 41 regular season periods ranging from 2-3 nights a week, and in those periods team play 2 different matchups. These short matchups really give a sense that ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Your crappy team could beat the best team in the league if your 4th liners get hot, but over the course of the season the best teams should rise to the top for the 4 1-week regular playoffs where the top 8 teams in each conference (just like the NHL) make the playoffs.

- AAV true to live Salary cap, we're using real nhl salaries to give that real nhl experience.

- A simplified yet in depth scoring system that focuses on base stats that matter, rather than the situation

- A dedicated discord. This allows teams to conduct live trade discussions, or group gatherings for important events like the draft. Teams can text or even use the voice chat to really get immersive. What's great is discord is mobile friendly and makes it easy to stay up to date and talk trades! Trash talking on discord is amazing!

- Fantrax Premium - it's a fun league and requires only 2 things $2.58 (80 / 31) and a little bit of effort.

- Team takeover: Pick the entire franchise you want, and run with it. No initial draft. You retain the rights of every player owned by that franchise as per September 1st 2017. What you do with that team is up to you. Rebuild, build a cup contender, or middle because you're too indecisive.

so there is no "random" draft order? people just sign up and pick a team they want?

Correct, it would have been nice to do a draft but one of the biggest problems with a league of this size is the initial draft. It's a logistics nightmare, and if people start taking a long time with a slow draft, or quit, it makes it a huge challenge to not only get to the start of the season but also be whole as a league as filling spots after teams have drafted the first 10 players makes it a challenge.

The way I see it, these 31 teams all have something appealing to them. Some admittedly more than others.

Ok, thanks for the info. Why not have a "team" draft? Each GM selects a team once the random draft order is set. I personally dont think its a fair way to start a league but to each his own.

The problem is you get into the predicament of managers who were interested then realizing they don't like the teams left in the draft, and quitting. This way people know what they're getting into. If they don't like the remaining teams that's fine, but if they do great, they'll have a great time and be able to really put their mark on them to build something they'd really like. There's no perfect solution.
