I prefer Lundqvist here.
Cory Schneider
Henrik Lundqvist
trying to decide whether to stick w/ Schneider or if Lundqvist is the better goalie keeper.
Hank: still put up average numbers but is getting up in age and showed signs of regressing last season
Schneider: one of the top 5v5 goalies in the league since becoming a starter but had career worst year last season

I voted for Schneider but only because of the going forward stipulation... this will be a better season for him by far, but he will still lose nearly as much as he wins, or more. Going forward however, I see Hank as a sinking ship, while NJ has light appearing in this tunnel... and I also think Hank will have an awesome season this year! But this year's awesomeness will destroy fantasy owners next year - this is the King's last stand. And last chance with the Rangers for a Cup.

Even in a one year league I would go with Schneider given the value on where you could draft him over Lundqvist. I would definitely go with Schneider in a keeper /dynasty setup as I see NJD and Schneider improving over last year's performance.

I think Lundqvist had a low SV% because it was sort of a changing of the guard for NYR D-men last year.
Holden, Skjei, and B.Smith are new pieces there - and they are solid guys, but there is an adjustment period for goalies with new D-men.
[They had Yandle and Dan Boyle for a while... goalies read their vets a bit better.]
NYR should be much improved with Girardi moving out and Shattenkirk added and another year older for the kids.
It won't surprise me if Lundy starts slow to adjust to Shattenkirk's game.
Schneider is a fantastic goalie, but NJ too is overhauling their D.
It really, REALLY, didn't help that NJ moved out Adam Larsson - not many people thought about that impact on Schneider's game.
I did - didn't touch Schneider last year. Lovejoy was new and Damon Severson (-31), defensively, is awful.
Its not much better this year for NJ D-corps... and I don't even think Will Butcher is going to handle the speedy NHL well defensively (good O-potential...)
NJ now also has Zajac out to start the season - and while Hischier has huge offensive potential, he's gonna get turned inside-out defensively for his first year or two.
Two-way centers are underconsidered assets towards goalie performance.
All that said, Lundqvist is 35 and has four years left on his contract.
So, if a GM wants the better goalie for the next four years... and is open to ZERO return after retirement, then yes, Lundqvist.
But, if a GM wants a decent goalie with GOOD return (eventually Schneider's NJ time will end)... then Schneider - who could be traded if NJ stinks going into his last year or two (UFA 2022).
A competing team should go with Lundqvist.
A building/rebuilding team should want Schneider.
Another great post by the Penguin... doesn't change my vote for Schneider, but does help me consider drafting the King in this year's draft. I think Lundqvist has a great year in the cards. He has the mental drive to prove to the world he is still elite. Look how quickly he jumped into play after his NHL season ended this year! I think Sweden won with him too, no?
