I just don't think he'll play with TB this season.

Reading between the lines of Yzerman's post-trade statements, I think Sergachev may return to junior and be called up late in season.
TB gets a 2nd round pick if Sergachev plays less than 40gp this year (which incl. playoff games - so they have to consider that) - so I don't see him making the roster for the first half of season.

Don't count on that for 2017-18 at least, not with the stipulation that Tampa has to send Montreal a good draft pick if he plays something like 41 games this season.

If Sergachev doesn't play 40 games the Canadiens get a 6th rd pick from Tampa and the Lightning get a 2nd from the Habs. If he plays more than 40 no picks are exchanged.
