I am opening a 14 team league to be hosted on Fantrax. League is free. This is a one year league. This is a points based scoring league.

Your 18 player roster will be filled via bidding. You will have 75 million dollar budget. 1 million dollar minimum bid. 25 million dollar maximum bid. $500,000 increments. Player will go to the highest bidder after no higher bids have been received for 36 hours. Commish will maintain $$ spent per team as we proceed through the bidding. There may be several players open for bidding at any point in time.

Bidding will be accomplished using Fantrax league message forums. This will take several weeks to bid on 250+ players.

Claims during the season will also be done using bidding. We will use blind auction bidding for in season claims.

Tentative Bidding Rules.....


Bids Gone Wild!

This is going to be very fun! Cut throat, I hope. But lets lay out the ground rules so there are no surprises.
Bidding will start when the league has 14 team owners and we have confirmed understanding on the below.

Initial Draft rules:
- $75 million dollars to spend on your 18 man roster during initial draft.

- Commish will keep spreadsheet of dollar amount spent per team as bids are won and make that information available at all times to all owners.

- Unspent dollars from the initial draft are worthless and do not carryover into the season.

- You *MUST* fill all 18 roster slots during the initial draft.

- There will be multiple phases of bidding (in order to keep things moving but at a manageable pace). Phase 1 is for opening bids of $8 million or greater. Subsequent phases will occur at the commish's descretion in a descending order of minimum bid required.

- $1 million dollar minimum bid.

- $25 million dollar maximum bid.

- $500,000 increments to raise a bid.

- Use a NEW message forum thread to start the bidding on a player.

- The subject of the message should name the player only.

- Use the QUOTE feature on a message to raise the bid. Do not start a new thread. Use the QUOTE feature!!!

- Once a bid/raise is placed, you are committed to the bid/raise. No retractions.

- If 36 hours passes with no raised bids, the player is awarded to the high bidder.

- If you have not filled your roster and do not have at least $1 million to spend on each remaining player to meet a full roster, the lowest value player on your roster who will provide adequate spending power will be removed from your team and re-opened for bidding. You will be excluded from bidding on that player.

- In the event of an unclear/vague bid, all rulings will favor the bidders who placed a clear/specific bid.

- If you delete a thread, message, bid or reply, you will excluded from all bidding for 4 days. If there is a second offense, you will be replaced in the league.



*All* (Free Agent and Waiver) player adds during the season will be accomplished using Blind Auction Bidding. See rules page.

All other settings for this league are according to the rules page.

After the initial draft is completed, the league will operating via the settings/rules. Limited commish involvement.

In the event that we lose a team owner during the initial draft, commish will determine if the team is locked or if the players are tossed back in to the pool. If we lose a team owner after the draft, the team will be locked.

Bottom X teams may be replaced next season. Number of teams to be determined.

If you aren't able to fill up your league, would you and your existing league members be interested in joining mine? It's an Auction on yahoo and also uses a Point-based system that I came up with. Most of my league is coming back from last year, but we have 4-5 spots open out of 13 teams total.
