    Default Confirm my drops please.

Not a tough task for the most part, my team is pretty cruddy. Need to drop 10 from team in sig.

    For sure keepers:
    1. Arvidson
    2. Barkov
    3. Barzal
    4. Boeser
    5. Couture
    6. Eberle
    7. E Ek
    8. Landeskog
    9. Lee
    10. Monahan
    11. Nyquist
    12. Puljujarvi
    13. Tatar
    14. Tavares
    15. Barrie
    16. Carlson
    17. Dumba
    18. Faulk
    19. Klingberg
    20. Officer Bob
    21. Vasi

    For sure drops:
    1. Grigorenko
    2. Motte
    3. Yakupov
    4. Ekholm
    5. Pouliot?
    6. Sproul
    7. Nick Ritchie?
    8. Brett Ritchie?

So that leaves these guys (need to choose 2 to drop):
    1. C Brown
    2. Hertl
    3. Meier
    4. Namestnikov
    5. R Smith
    6. Spooner
    7. Reimer

I'd like to keep Reimer but he could be redrafted in the 3rd or 4th round and I do think Hertl and Meier and Namestnikov are worth keeping? I look forward to your advices and can rep for your pleasure.

Namestikov --> with the triplets resigned & stammer back, Namestikov's deployment could decide everything. He has never broken the 40pt mark, I'd say its a safe option to let go of.

Meier --> his true value is in multi-cat leagues and you already have hertl. I wouldn't want most of the 3rd line in SJ.

    Bonus pick:
    R. Smith --> Not enough faith in Vegas to draft below their first line.

Since it's a points league I would consider out of Spooner, Smith, Namestnikov, Hertl. Gun to my head I take Namestnikov and Hertl

I have a poor reason to keep all of these guys, either I paid $ to get them via WW (Smith, Brown) or I made a bad trade to acquire them (Hertl, Namest) or they have "talent" (Namest, Spooner, Meier) but have not yet shown it.

Looking like 3rd liner Spooner and Namest are in the lead so far with Smith in a close 3rd. No alterations on my for sure drops with Yak, D Pouliot and the Ritchie boys going back in the pool.

It doesnt matter how you got them or how much they cost you. What matters is keeping the best options for your team.

I'd ditch Namestikov and Smith, though Smith is certainly more debateable.

I have no faith in that Las Vegas team, but if you do than switch him with Meier. For points only I don't see him being that great.

One thing to note about Spooner, is that he has had decent production for about 2.5 years now, all on the 3rd line. He's putting up 40-50pt seasons with 14-15min TOI/game with 3rd line wingers. Reliable with potential for upside. Personally I'd like something reliable like that rather than gambling on deep SJ picks. SJ prospect pool is quite depleted, not feeling great about where they will be in a few years.

Good points. Seeing Spooner getting the same opportunity as Vatrano and Czarnik is not that reassuring but he is doing well with it, although he got lots of PP times last year and 18/39 pts from there. As far as SJ goes, someone needs to step up and get points. Hertl gets opportunity but just cant deliver and people seem to love Meier for some reason.

Now leaning toward Smith (junk team) and Namestnikov (Kunitz factor).

A junk team still needs players to score for them. Someone has to get those opportunities.

Just don't drop Namestnikov - here's a tidbit I dug up in a recent cage match column:

Namestnikov showed excellent chemistry with Steven Stamkos, with Tampa averaging 5.71 goals per 60 minutes of 5x5 time when the two shared the ice, compared to 3.84 for Stamkos overall

Tampa has lots of guys who can play in various spots, and the off chance that Vlad sticks with Stamkos probably is enough to merit him not being a cut.
