    Default Stamkos or Backstrom?

Notables from my team from 2016-2017. I can keep 3:
    Boborovsky, Dubnyk - Goalies
    Stamkos, Backstrom - Centers
    Pasternaik - RW
    Burns - Defence

I am thinking Burns and Bobs for sure. Then debating last keeper between Stammer and Backstrom.

    League rules:
    Head to head
    Not a salary cap league
    Min Goalie Appearances: 3
Roster Positions: C, C, LW, LW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR, IR

Forwards/Defensemen Stat Categories: Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shots on Goal (SOG), Hits (HIT)

Goaltenders Stat Categories: Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)

I'd keep Backstrom but only by a hair. He's the model of consistency and you won't ever be disappointed by him. With Stammer, I'm a bit worried about how easily he's going to step back into the game, with how close it is between the two, a month to return to form would edge him out imo.

    Stamkos for all the reasons.

Backstrom if you prefer to mitigate the injury risk. Stammer missing a whole season with a leg issue is becoming far too common. Hopefully the guy is just unlucky.

Goals and SOG are categories, so keep Stamkos.

And I'd actually be tempted to keep Dubnyk over Bobrovsky, given his high level consistency over the last 2 1/2 seasons since arriving in Minnesota. But wouldn't fault you for keeping the reigning Vezina winner.

Wow, tough choice. I'd go with Backstrom. Stamkos isn't the dominant guy he once was - his SOG and goals have been in decline for a couple seasons. Backstrom isn't a liability, having 23 goals last year and his 162 SOG weren't all that far behind Stamkos and his 216 (36g in 77 gp) in the season before the last one. Backstrom kills it in PPP and of course Assists. Stamkos does beat Backstrom pretty handily in Hits...if he can play more than half a season. For me, I like my top guys to play, so I'm going with the sure thing in Backstrom here.

I'd go with Backstrom. Safer pick and a PPP machine. The loss in shots will be made up by Burns enormous lead on the next closest dman.

Wow - tough choice. Given Stamkos and his injury woes recently, I would go with Mr. Consistency Backstrom.

Stamkos fits this league so well. He is must-keep.

I like Backstrom as well. You can make up categories like SOG pretty easily, but you can't make up losing 1 of your 3 keepers every damn year.

The mark of a good thread topic - when the crowd is split.

I take Stamkos here. For the same reasons listed by others. I actually value players in leagues that count SOG by SOG, as I personally find it's really difficult to find players that are top tier in that category late, as opposed to an underrated points only type of guy who will get you 50-60 points but not much else.

I think Stammer will have something to prove this year and he'll find a way to connect with Kooch to form a megaline and take the NHL by storm- Im targetting him (in most formats- where its feasible)...

Not an exact answer to the question, but why keep a goalie?

I would consider keeping Burns, Stamkos and signed Pasternak. If he isn't then I'd go with Backstrom. I think you have a better chance at replacing the goalies than getting one of those two back.
