New Fun International League Idea

So I came up with this idea last season but never put it into action. Thought I'd give it a shot this season....

Yahoo 6 Team H2H Points (4 team playoffs)
Teams will be International squads with a slight twist.
Ontario
Rest of Canada
USA
Sweden
Russia
Rest of Europe

Team squads will be filled prior to the season, so no draft. Managers can add/drop players via free agency from their region ONLY. Separating Ontario from Canada will separate a lot of talent (ie McDavid & Crosby) and having Rest of Europe which would include Finland will make that team competitive.

Scoring system is as follows...
Goals - 2
Assists - 1
PPP - 1
Wins - 3
SO - 1

Roster size would also be kept small to make the league more balanced and competitive: 3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 4 D, 1 G.
Maximum of 3 adds per week and of course no trades.

Team maintenance throughout the year would be low. This will be a free Yahoo league.

There won't be a remains squad. Teams will be aloud to add/drop players to and from their team such as long as that player belongs to that region. Example: Rest of Europe can't add Marner if Ontario isn't using him. Marner can only be picked up by Ontario. It will work on an honour system. Are you interested in taking one of the available teams?

Initially I am interested in Russia.
However I'd like to see who would be available to play for Rest of Canada & Rest of Europe

No problem. Both, Rest of Canada and Russia are open. The way it will work is, I will manually fill the teams with the best players available from that region. Once all teams are filled, the manager will take over and can add/drop any player he chooses so long as they are from that region/country. Make sense?

Just curious....how do you define where someone is from? Where they are born? Or where they grew up? Random example: Tyler Myers is born in Texas, grew up in Alberta and elected to play for Canada in international competition. Which region is he "from"?

A better example would be Cam Fowler and Willam Nylander. Both born in Canada but represented the USA and Sweden in international hockey. So in this league, they are not eligible for Canada.

Not getting a response from the guy who wanted Sweden so they are up for grabs again. They'll have the best D core in the league with a very solid forward group. Who wants them?
