Default Pick 2 D from this list

    Hello guys!

I'd like your input on this list of defensemen for the next year. Its a keeper, points only cap league (see sig.) and I'm especially short on money this year. Thus, salary weights in the decision process here. The Ds I assume will be available are (cap hit in parentheses for reminder):

    - Klefbom (4.167M)
    - Yandle (6,35M)
    - Doughty (7M)
    - Suter (7,5..M)
    - Trouba (2,8..M)
    - Weber, 7,85..M)

Since it's not an especially deep league, assume other names not being a #1 D are probably available.

Who would you pick from this list for points only? You can list 2 if you want, just remember that cap weights in in the decision

I would favor a expensive player likely to crack 50pts over cheap, 40max pts, and I would like to hear you guys' thoughts on the matter.

    Thanks a lot!

I'd take Klef and Touba. I think they will both be in the 40pt+ territory.

Take Doughty as the sure thing bang for bucks and then Trouba he will play the hell out of that money and offer great value.

Klef and Yandle. Trouba is tempting, but based on research I did for a cage match article that's coming out this week I think his spike in production in the last half of 2016-17 is not sustainable.

Hahahaha I love how most of my questions are the subject of a cage match coming out the week I'm asking.
This was essentially something I've been wondering about Trouba, because his potential + salary ARE tempting. If he wasn't buried behind Buff he would be a great fantasy contributor in points only I think.

I think Trouba is worth his salary for the production. If you want a 30-35pt guy, he's worth the money (this year), but I don't see him coming anywhere close to Yandle or Doughty, even though they cost more. I damn near said Yandle but for the extra $700K, I like Doughty more.

Klefbom is the easy choice for his cap hit.

In points only, I would take Klef & Trouba. The price is right and you won't see that far of a drop below Doughty/Suter.
Put that extra salary into another position.

Klefbom no matter what and then Trouba:

Other research suggests even more of a breakout- the jets guy on this site (hes on DBR all the time) has Troubas underlying WAR numbers as some of the best in the league and seems to be cautiously bringing up superstar upside at some pount. At that pricepoint- hes a fine own even without a sugnificant step forwards. I dony like Yandle in multi cat leagues and Doughty os too expensive without any real upside (although his production is not an anchor by any means).

EDIT: points only yandle has more value but still the dollar/point ratio isnt enough to bump Trouba.

Klefbom and Trouba if you are tight with the cap (AKA best bang for your buck).

    Or

Doughty and Weber if you have cap space as I think both of them will have the highest point total from this list next year.
