Ultimately, it probably depends more on Ferland, Jankowski, and Lazar than it does Bennett. They want him to be a C, so ultimately I think that's where he will play. Could be 2C though. I really think the hope is that Tkachuk and Bennett find chemistry like Monahan and Gaudreau have.

Backlund is the defensive trump card. He's always going to get the toughest minutes with Frolik, and he excels with it. I personally don't feel the Flames need to keep Tkachuk with him.
Flames are really hoping to be more of a top 9 than a 1-2-3 lines with each line playing a similar amount of the game. So really number the lines as you like. If Bennett takes the step you're hoping for (and I expect), then I think he will be used in more offensive situations and Backlund will get even more defensive assignments.

In my league it would be Bennett, but really depends on how players are graded. People like new prospects and tend to over-grade them as they appear. Bennett in a few years ahead of Yamamoto and he has a better chance of staying on a talented Flames team. If Yamamoto "does" succeed at the NHL level there is little to no cap room for him in and will likely be traded. If you are investing in Yamamoto do not do this assuming he stays with McDavid or Draisatl...

I would trade Yama for Bennett in a heartbeat. His value is at an all time high for a kid that hasn't passed his 9 games yet. Not to mention that Pulju is waiting in the wings too. Bennett is still growing and he has slotted beside Johnny twice this year. The Flames are taking their time with him, and they went out to get Jagr to play on his wing.
You can make whatever move you'd like, but I'd take Bennett over Yama, no doubt.

Battle of the Sams. Top 5 picks getting third line minutes. This is the season you'd want to take a chance on either. Worth the risk that they'll find their way to top six minutes . If they don't do it this season, you're looking at decent NHL' ers nothing more.
