Roman Polak - where do he end up?
Okay...not the sexiest of names to discuss this summer, but he is a cornucopia of hits and blocks.Any theories on who takes a chance on him and how much he signs for? Could be a bargain if he plays...in the NHL. I know Leafs fans are glad to see him go, but he is a reliable fantasy producer. Thoughts?

I just dropped him from my AHL roster in one league. I'm not convinced he does get signed. Best bet though is Colorado, as they only have 4 D on their roster right now.

Because Toronto's D is still young, soft and weak. They need the leadership.

I'd like Polak back in a Leafs uniform. Dude was pretty solid as a bottom 6, PK guy.
I think he gets a PTO somewhere tho and not outright signed. Leafs I think want to keep the option open to have a Marlies D pushing to try and get a spot.

Everything in Leaf land suggests he signs as the 7th defender in TO. The right side is very shallow (only Holl and Loverde on the Marlies after Zaitsev, Carrick and probably Hainsey) so he would be 'trusted' insurance should one of the young'ins fail to cut it or if there is an injury. Waiver wire for short term only.
EDIT: I hasten to note that yep, the new Swedes can also play right side, but Babs is Babs

I don't think he will sign, and if he does I don't think he will play consistently enough or enough minutes to even provide helpful/useful hits/blocks statlines.

Thanks all - interesting how many think he will end up back with the Leafs. Much of what I have read points to him not coming back. Hopefully he lands a PTO, sticks with a team, and signs for cheap!

Marchenko just bolted to the KHL. They don't *need* him but they might want an extra body and he's a familiar face.
