Smith - Did ok on a rough Arizona team, and now has an A+ Defence in front of him.
Lehner - Looking better on a team that is beginning to improve.
Elliott - PHI has a good young D, that is improving each year.

Greiss/Halak - Not sold on either yet, but could be the year Greiss emerges
Raanta - Like him longer term, but with the shaky D, this year could be tough.
Hellebuyck - I think he wrestles the job from Mason, but hi s Do should help.

Reimer/Luongo - Big question both for who emerges and for the team in front of them.
Grubauer - Unless Holtby gets hurt, not a big play, and their D took a big hit this summer.

I'd probably like them this way:

    Smith
    Lehner
    Raanta

Those three are the clear starters for their respective teams. From there it gets tougher trying to figure out the handcuffs and weaker options. From here, I am guessing like this:

    Greiss
    Halak
    Reimer
    Luongo
    Elliott
    Grubauer
    Hellebuyck
Ax, do you really see a time share in Philly? Neuvirth has played had more than 30 appearances twice in ten years and more than 40 games once. He's coming off a year where he had a .891 S% (20th worst last year, and worst among goalies with more than 20 games ... worse than Niemi!). Or do you see Stolarz breaking through?

I was of the thinking that Elliot would be the main man on Philly too Polecon. I admit to not being on the pulse of the Philly goalie situation though and defer to others in that area.

Bump. Draft day for our league today.

Still curious, about the question Polecon posed. Is Elliot not the clear cut starter for Philly? Or are we just scared that Elliot does what he did in Calgary last season and gives the starting gig away to Neuvirth? In which case, yes that is a concern, but for now Elliot is the clear cut starter.

I don't trust Elliott to stay healthy so somoney has to play there. They didn't re-sign Neuvirth for $2.5M to let him rot on the bench.

Smith slightly over Lehner as Calgary is a better team but i believe Lehner is a better goalie. However if you got Smith i would try to draft Gillies late, if Smith gets hurt i think Gillies not Lack will get a starting job.

Since you start 2 Gs a night, NHL scheduling will be something you should look at... with Dallas and Chicago as your other goalies, you actually benefit in man games by going with Buffalo over Calgary 60 to 57, but Buffalo will have 16 B2Bs to Calgary's 12. The B2Bs become a less significant difference (3 to 2) come fantasy playoff time. This from the Same Night Tool. My initial gut vote would have been Smith, but I think you should go with Lehner. Oddly, the Flames' schedule usually crushes other options. NOT when you have the Stars and Blackhawks goalies, lol! Pick Lehner.

Side note about Philly goaltending... I have lived here in Philly my whole life. I have learned one thing watching tons of Flyers games... I will NEVER, EVER, EVER..... EVER ever, ever, never, ever.... EVER.

Never, ever own a Philly goalie again.

I will, however own a goalie that was traded away from Philly, lol!

Smith - Would be my option as a 3rd for sure.

    followed by
Lehner - Eichel will lead the team to improve.

    but I would gable on
Elliott - Should be 1st if he can stay healthy but Philly is always rocky to start the season.
    or
Hellebuyck - I think he's always hot and cold and he's always been hot when i need him so I may be bais but great 3rd filler for now.
