Had an offer of my Palat and 2nd round pick for Mackinnon...

I rejected the offer and countered back with a 3rd round pick instead.

For 1st team in signature. Goals and assists are 1 point each, bonus point for Powerplay points.

What are people's thoughts on Mackinnon? I think Palat has reached his ceiling, I think Mackinnon could reach more although he is on a terrible Colorado team.

You should list setup in sig also. Full keeper or limited? What could you get with that second rounder?

That being said in my mind I would do the deal. Good you countered with the 3rd but not sure the difference between the picks is so great. You can search other threads for Mack thoughts a lot of good discussions around him

I highly believe in a big breakout for him when and if it will happen is anyone's guess

25 man roster, keep 20 every year. Draft consists of new NHL draftees and all non - keepers. I dont value draft picks super high considering I have never kept my 1st round pick in the 4 years the league has been running. That being said, still don't want to just throw them away. Lol
The deal has changed a bit since I started this thread. The offer now is

Seeing as how you haven't kept your 1st rounder over the past few years in the league, later round picks should matter too much to you in a deal like this.
Mackinnon should be an upgrade over Palat, take the best player here.

Thanks. The forums are a wonderful place filled with lots of good advice. I had been debating about keeping Faulk or Klefbom. I was getting the impression that Klefbom might be the better player to keep over Faulk from the forums so I offered Faulk for a 2nd round pick and it was accepted. A few days later, with the same owner, I offered Lucic for Mackinnon straight up. That was rejected and he countered back with Palat and a 2nd for Mackinnon. I actually thought Lucic was the better player between Palat and Lucic but the other owner seemed to like Palat. So after some screwing around, I came back to the original offer and that's how it all came down.

The original offer is not that bad at all- I offered way way more than that for Mack. His stats are already reasonable- and likely better than Palats and his upside is ginormous (although you might have to wait for the team to catch up). Hoping hes not the next Nash- high sog player on a bad team who overplays on the international stage. Ftr- I like Mack as a unique entity with oodles more upside.
