Default Jones and Letang ++ for Talbot and Josi

Hey guys, I'm looking for opinions on an offer I just made for my 11 team 15 keeper league in sig.

I offered my Jones, Letang, McDonagh and his choice of (Spezza, Stepan, Kesler or Neal)

    for

His Talbot and Josi, plus any 2 players which I wouldn't keep.

My question is do you think Talbot and Josi are significant enough upgrades over Jones and Letang to justify this trade?

McDonagh isn't a Keeper for me and I can only keep one of the FWDS mentioned above.

I feel I would be getting the 2 best players in the deal. All four players going his way would be keepers for him.

Did I make a fair offer? Too much, too little. Opinions please!

I don't see an upgrade from Jones to Talbot....this is a sideway move imo....

Also think you give to much for Josi....

Not a fan of this offer at all....

Agreed. You're giving too much here. The base of the offer is fine, especially if you want to move away from Letang, but even Jones/Letang for Josi/Talbot is pretty close.

In our league setup, Talbot scored 74 points compared to Jones at 52.44 points and yes moving away from Letang and is injuries is a factor for me.
He rejected my offer and countered with Rask instead of Talbot and asked for Stepan as the (pick 1 fwd). I told him Talbot had to be included in the deal.
I agree my offer is an over payment but I justify it due to the fact that I can only keep 1 of those fwds or McDonagh.
Do you guys think Talbot will take step back or Jones will improve on last years average performance?

If that's the cost then just hold what you have. Talbot likely won't start as much, limiting his value an little for you. Jones should also be a little better, but probably still in the 50s for points for you.

I'm okay with selling Letang, but don't give him away.

EK, would you do Letang for Josi straight up? Letangs injuries cost me 2nd place and the playoffs last year.

Going to assume that was supposed to say EB, and you were asking me.

Depending on the league and the rest of my team, I would. Then again Josi is my favourite player, so there's a bit of a bias.

Realistically, you get 80% of a healthy Letang from Josi. If Letang plays 80 games, then you want him. If it's 65, it's a wash, if it's less, you want Josi. With Letang coming off the off-season surgery, we don't know where he's even going to be to start the season, so I have to advise going the safer route with Josi.

I'm fine with the original offer (since the add ons are drops anyways). But I wouldn't do Rask instead of Talbot.

I'd also have no issues doing Letang for Josi straight up if you don't have the stomach for Letang. I've seen Letang be sold for a lot lower than that.

I would do this deal. SJ is going to be a sinking ship soon. Letang is made of tissue paper. If you can't keep the other players in the deal, yeah do it.

He won't move Talbot, but has agreed to Josi for Letang and McDonagh. I'm thinking of accepting since I can't keep McDonagh anyways. Before I accept are there any other D outside of Karlsson or Burns that you guys think I should target ahead of Josi? (PK, Shattenkirk, Ghost?)

Hedman is the only one that comes to mind, but that middle tier is very tightly packed.

I already have Hedman and Klingberg!

I pulled the trigger and traded Letang and McDonagh for Josi and Brassard. I'm happy with the deal!
