Default Pts only / cap league prospect d - top 5

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for helping me build a contending team last year.

This is my prospect D list for this year and I'm looking for your top 5.

Looking at it strictly from upside, swinging for the fence...

    Jake Walman
    Kyle Wood
    Jalen Smereck
    Nicolas Meloche
    Vili Saarijarvi
    Will Butcher
    Philippe Myers
    Nic Hague
    Kyle Capobianco
    Brendan Guhle
    Andrew Nielsen
    Juuse Valimaki
    Henri Jokiharju
    Cal Foote
    Conor Timmins
    Pierre-Olivier Joseph

    Thanks

    Myers
    Walman
    Wood
    Valimaki
    Butcher

    HM: Jokiharju, Guhle

I'm horrible at ranking based on upside only because I always consider the chance of actually playing in the NHL and getting anywhere close to that upside to be part of the equation, and that's why I have guys like Myers and Butcher maybe higher than others.

Myers and Walman are my top two quite easily.

From there it gets a little tougher. I do like Wood and Butcher as well and they would be 3-4 for me.

#5 is basically a crap shoot. I'll say Jokiharju but that's my best guess.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

Bang on, and 5 really I still a crapshoot, but you know there will be D opportunities in CHI.

Thanks for the help, It's always appreciated. I Did some reading and also have Dobber's guide. I always take the 3YP number that Dobber provides to try and measure/compared prospects to one another. Dobber has Myers 3YP significantly lower than Walman and wood. Do you guy's think it's a matter of situation for him to be behind 2 young studs like Provorov and Ghost ?
When it's all said and done, I wan't the Dman who will put up numbers (pts) on the board.

Impossible to know what Dobber has been thinking but I'm guessing he sees Myers as more of a two-way D-man who doesn't produce much points. Walman is similarly stuck behind Parayko and Pietrangelo.
