    Default Depth trade

Multi-day salary keeper league in signature:

    _*MY*_
    Ryan Dzingel *_or_* Brock McGinn

    for
    _*
    THEIR*_
    Brett Connolly

My take: I think Connolly for McGinn is a good deal. I take on a bit of salary(600k). But, Connolly has sleeper potential and could slot into the top 6 in Washington with their offseason departures. I think he could get some 2nd PP time as well possibly. I see McGinn as a grinder on the 3rd or 4th line with no PP potential. Peripheral categories are a wash in my opinion.

My take: I think Connolly for Dzingel would be alright as well. I would shed 300k in salary. I think Dzingel for Connolly is more of a wash. Both have offensive potential, but i think Connolly has more of a chance and a better situation in Washington. Plus, Connolly i think has a better chance at PP time.

One other slant......McGinn is eligible for my minors in this league for 32 more games, where as Dzingel/Connolly are not. Keeping McGinn would allow me to shuffle player(s) from the minors to active roster for half the season based on daily schedule. Dzingel/Connolly would "lock" the active roster spot.

Opinions on which seal is better under these conditions?

Sounds like this is risk vs reward type deal. Connolly in your mind has the higher potential.

I don't really have much to add as these guys in the leagues I am in won't be rostered except for hot/cold streaks off the waiver wire. So go with your gut. The only thing I can add is to your last point. Roster flexibility is huge so if you can buy 30 games that could be the difference maker for the first few weeks of the season and who knows maybe he goes on a hot streak that you can turn into a bigger move before he loses that eligabilty

Connolly is one winger injury away from a top six spot on a still high-powered team, and likely will get a smattering of PP2 time even if everyone stays healthy. Also, he showed decent chemistry with Lars Eller last year, so even if he's relegated to the third line he still could give you production in the 30s.

    I'd do McGinn for Connolly.

    I'd probably keep Dzingel though.
