Bryan Murray, a hockey lifer and one of the nicest people in the sport and maybe the world, has died at age 74 after battle with cancer.

So sad to hear, but he was a part of his hockey team right to the end and that is surely how he wanted it.

I somehow missed this news over the weekend.
As a lifelong Sabres fan, I remember vividly watching the Murray-Ruff confrontation linked to above. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I was not at all a fan of that Sens team, but I was a distant admirer of Bryan Murray. From all that I've read and heard about him, it sounds like he genuinely was down to Earth and did his best to treat people the right way. Tough loss for the Murray family, and the Sens organization and its fans.
RIP Bryan.
