How Many of the 2017 Draft Players Play This Year?

I'll set the Over/Under at 2.5 players

This draft didn't seem to have a ton of NHL-ready talent. Min 25 games makes me think it might be only the top two. Some have suggested Glass or Liljegren or Heiskanen might get a look, but I don't think it's likely any of them get close to 25, and maybe not even 9 (or 1 for that matter). I'll take the under on 3.5.

I expect Hischer to make NJ, but outside of that there is nobody that I think is close to a lock (I don't even think Hischer is actually). Someone will probably surprise though, like Sprong/Konecny

Vegas is going to be patient with Glass and their other prospects, I don't think he'll be in the lineup this year.

Heiskanen and Liljegren both played in Europe last year, so it would make sense to send them in the AHL to get accustomed to a different playing style rather than start them in the NHL... unless they kill it at camp. But in both cases, their drafting team can afford to let them spend another year to develop. And this is not taking into account that d-men usually take a while longer to developp.

I'm also on the "under" side. I think it'll be max 3 players from the last draft who play at least 25 games (top 2, plus there's often a surprise).

I guess I still have to take the under but I hope I'm wrong. It'd be fun to see a Nick Suzuki type shock everyone and do well. There could be a Jeff Skinner lurking in the weeds.

I'll go the over on 2.5 and even on 3.5. I think we see 4-5.

Hisher and Patrick are the two most likely, and I think one of Suzuki or Glass makes Vegas. Between Petersson, Kostin (who has a pro deal), Tippett, Thomas, Ratcliffe and others, I think there's one more that can pull off the 15 games. That's where my 4 comes from.

Pettersson is confirmed to be playing in SWE this year so he's out. I'll take the over though for fun. A few over agers could be NHL ready like Volkov or Repo as welll.

Hischier and Patrick should play in the NHL this yeasr. Tippett should as well. Wouldn't surprise me to see Kostin as well. Beyond that, no one (aside from 9 game trials at the beginning of the year).
So to answer the question, I'll take the over, since I fully expect Hischier, Patrick and Tippett to be full time NHLers.

It wouldn't surprise me if none of the kids from this past years draft play past the 9 game mark. Hischier maybe but other than that, I am skeptical.

I will go with the under. I think there will be only 1 guy from the 2017 NHL entry draft who plays more than 15 NHL games this year.
