    Hey everyone.

Any more news on Pastrnak? Is there a deadline in which he has to sign? I'm hearing between $6-7m.

No news here... but I can totally see him getting a salary close to the 7 million AAV. Would no surprise me one bit.

I could live with $7m haha anything higher and I'm screwed

I had Johansen and Hedman already blow up on me financially. The levee is going to break

There's always a few big name RFA's that don't sign until the last minute... Draisaitl's not signed either. Should be no concerns about either... 7m would be good. figure 5-7 years. There seems to be a trend to lock up young talent long term at the end of entry level contracts and skip bridge deals right now. 7x7 maybe 7x8

Bruins are playing coy in the press, but they will step up and pay - no question

Based on his 70pt season, I think it'll be hard for the Bruins to get away with giving him less than $7m.
I think that 70th point is going to cost them!!! That "point" mark feels like the magical starting-number for forwards these days.

On the plus side, Pastrnak's high was 27pts in 50gp in prior seasons (as 1st, 2nd year player).
One might point similarities to Mikael Granlund's recent contract, who boomed from 40s-to-69pts... and Granlund only got $5.75m, though shorter term.

The Bruins have to be a tad careful with this contract... as it'll set the new bar for young players like Krug and eventually Carlo and McAvoy.
    I'll say 8yr x $6.5m = $52m.

Something I heard is that they are delaying because Pastrnak wants $7m but the bruins don't want to pay him more than Bergeron who they view as their best forward. Even though Krejci makes more.

It kinda reminds me of the Gaudreau situation from a few years back. They didn't wanna pay him more than Giordano, who at the time was their best player and most veteran, like Bergeron.

So I would expect Pastrnak to end up just below Bergeron at $6.7m aav on a 6-7 year deal.

The timing is not good. One very good season and then he is up for contract. It isnt optically right for him to make more that Bergeron or Marchand.... just IMO.
